Bloomington PrairieThunder Announces 2010-2011 Game Schedule

The Bloomington PrairieThunder, along with the Central Hockey League, today announced the team's 2010-2011 game schedule. The PrairieThunder's "Fifth Anniversary Season" begins on the road Saturday, October 16th in Independence, Missouri against the Missouri Mavericks. The team's home opening weekend is Friday & Saturday, October 22nd and 23rd, when the PrairieThunder host two new opponents, the Odessa Jackalopes and the Tulsa Oilers at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The Odessa (Texas) Jackalopes and Tulsa Oilers are two of eleven new opponents who will travel to Bloomington this season to battle the PrairieThunder. The other new CHL teams coming to town are the Evansville IceMen; Arizona Sundogs; Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees; Wichita Thunder; Mississippi (Memphis) RiverKings; Rapid City Rush; Colorado Eagles; Missouri Mavericks; and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. They will join current rivals the Quad City Mallards; Dayton Gems; and Fort Wayne Komets who are scheduled to play at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum as well.
An additional highlight of the 2010-11 Bloomington PrairieThunder home schedule is that 28 of the team's 33 regular season home games will be played on weekends or on holiday dates. Eighteen of the home games will be played on Fridays and Saturdays and the schedule features a number of games around the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Sunday home games will have a new starting time of 3:05pm and all other games except for the February 21st President's Day game will start at 7:05pm.
