INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), announced today the 2010-11 regular season schedule. The Mavericks will open up their second season on Friday, October 15 at Independence Events Center against the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 p.m.

The Mavericks' 33-game home schedule is highlighted by 27 weekend dates - six more than last season - including one Sunday 5:05 p.m. matinee game. The Mavericks will have 13 games on Fridays, 13 games on Saturdays, four games on Tuesdays and one game on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday respectively. All of the Mavericks' home games (other than the lone Sunday game) will begin at 7:05 p.m. at Independence Events Center.

The Mavericks will play the Wichita Thunder a total of 11 times (six home, five away), more than any other opponent. Missouri will see the Tulsa Oilers a total of nine times (four home, five away) and the third most common opponent the Mavs will face is the Colorado Eagles in which they will square off eight times (three home, five away).

The CHL features a new look this season with five new teams, the Bloomington PrairieThunder, Dayton Gems, Evansville IceMen (played in Muskegon last season), Fort Wayne Komets and Quad City Mallards who join the league for the 2010-11 season after playing last season as the International Hockey League (IHL). The Mavericks will play the five new teams a total of 18 times, with Quad City being the most frequent opponent in which the Mavericks will play the Mallards seven times (four home, three away).

The Mavericks will not face either the Allen Americans or Arizona Sundogs in the regular season. Missouri will host 13 of the teams in the CHL as the Laredo Bucks and Texas Brahmas will also not come to Independence. The Mavericks will play teams from the Northern Conference a total 41 times (21 home, 20 away), and teams from the Southern Conference a total of 25 times (12 home, 13 away).

Seven of the Mavericks' first eight games are at home including a season-long four-game home stand starting October 29 and finishing on November 6. The Mavericks longest road trip of the season is just three games, however the team will have four such road trips.

The Missouri Mavericks will begin their second season in the Central Hockey League on October 15, 2010 against the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 p.m. The Mavericks play their home games at the state-of-the-art Independence Events Center where parking is always free.
