Sundogs Release Complete 2010-11 Schedule

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, today released their complete schedule for the upcoming 2010-11 season. The Sundogs will play a 66-game regular season schedule with 33 home dates to be played at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.

"While the 2010-11 schedule is not without its challenges, we would like to thank the Central Hockey League and its staff for their efforts in working to fulfill the majority of our requests throughout the scheduling process," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro.

The Sundogs will begin the season on the road for just the second time in the franchise's five-year history, facing off against the Colorado Eagles on Friday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado.

Arizona will open its home slate the following weekend against the IHL's Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23 at Tim's Toyota Center.

"We're pleased to announce our 2010-11 schedule knowing that our season ticket holders, corporate partners, and fans throughout Northern Arizona share the same anticipation," said Sundogs President Jerry McBurney. "We worked with the league to secure as many weekend dates as possible. Of our 33 scheduled home games, Sundogs fans will enjoy 23 that take place on Fridays or Saturdays."

Including opening the home portion of its schedule against Fort Wayne, Arizona will play all five IHL franchises that have joined the CHL for the 2010-11 season including the Komets, Evansville IceMen, Dayton Gems, Quad City Mallards and Bloomington PrairieThunder during the team's longest road stretch of the season, an eight-game trip from Nov. 5-21 that will also take them though cities Wichita and North Richland Hills (Texas).

The Sundogs will play a nine-game home stand from Jan. 19-Feb. 4, their longest of the season, that will bring Odessa, Colorado and the Laredo Bucks to Tim's Toyota Center.

Arizona will also see a team during the 2010-11 season it has yet to face in four years of existence in the CHL in the Mississippi RiverKings during a three-game home set March 2-5 at Tim's Toyota Center.

The Sundogs will again play host to a New Year's Eve game at Tim's Toyota Center, a tradition carried out since the club's first season in the league, as Laredo visits Prescott Valley on Thursday, Dec. 31 as part of a three-game set.

Arizona will play an unbalanced schedule, meaning the team will face some clubs more than others, regardless if they're conference opponents or not. Arizona will face 15 CHL clubs during the 2010-11 season including Allen, Bloomington, Colorado, Dayton, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Laredo, Mississippi, Odessa, Quad City, Rapid City, Rio Grande Valley, Texas, Tulsa and Wichita. The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Missouri Mavericks are the only teams the Sundogs will not see during the regular season.

All preseason, regular season and subsequent postseason games will once again be broadcast live on KDDL 'Cattle Country' 94.3FM, the Official Radio Home of Arizona Sundogs Hockey, and online at www.cattlecountryradio.com by Sundogs radio broadcaster Jordan Duvall. Fans will also have the opportunity to listen to radio broadcasts inside Tim's Toyota Center during home games on radio frequency 97.3 FM.
