Blizzard to face rival Peoria Saturday night

Green Bay, WI –The Green Bay Blizzard will square off against Midwest Division rivals Peoria Pirates Saturday night June 5th at 7:30 p.m. Both teams have identical 3-5 records and are tied for third in the division behind Quad City (6-2) and Louisville (6-2).

The Blizzard bring in the league's third ranked offense in Passing (279.0 yards/game) and Total Offense (285.0 yards/game). The Blizzard rank seventh in Scoring Offense with 52.6 points/game. On the defensive side of the ball, the Blizzard are last in the league in Total Defense (311.9 yards/game) and Scoring Defense (56.0 pts/game).

To the contrast of the Blizzard are the Peoria Pirates. The Pirates are second in the league in Scoring Defense (37.0 pts/game), seventh in Total Defense (226.1 yards/game), and eighth in Pass Defense (210.4). On the offensive side, Peoria is last in Scoring Offense (29.5), Total Offense (178.0 yards/game), and Pass Offense (147.2 yds/game).

DROP BACK

The Blizzard dropped another heart breaker last Friday when Manchester Wolves scored the winning touchdown with just 8 seconds left. The final score was 66-61 and the second game in as many weeks that the Blizzard lost in the closing seconds. QB Chris Greisen finished with the fifth best single game passing yards in af2 history with 400 yards. OS Randall Lane finished with 200 receiving yards which set a new Blizzard franchise single game record.

SALUTE TO HEROES

The Blizzard will be honoring all branches of the armed forces at halftime of the Peoria game.
