The next two weeks will be a few of the most vital of the season for teams in the American Conference's Midwest Division. There is currently a three way tie for first place in the Midwest Division with Green Bay, Louisville, and Quad City all at 4-3 overall. While Green Bay stays home with a week nine bye, Louisville travels to Quad City to take on the Steamwheelers on Friday night. Louisville is also currently seated right above the Blizzard in the week nine coaches poll at the eight spot.

With Louisville in Green Bay's sights for week ten, Green Bay looks to continue to advance in both the Midwest Division standings and the af2 weekly coaches poll. Aside from Louisville, the Blizzard are only looking up at one other American Conference opponent in the week nine coaches poll, the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers of the American Conference's East Division. Wilkes-Barre Scranton continues to occupy the number one spot in the coaches poll as they remain undefeated at 7-0 overall. The only other team in the af2 that currently boasts an undefeated record is the Tulsa Talons of the National Conference's Central Division; Tulsa currently holds the number two spot in the coaches poll. The Blizzard will take on the Tulsa Talons in Tulsa on June 16th.

The Blizzard will look to their defense to keep the pressure on opposing offenses as they move into the second half of the season, a defense that currently ranks first in the statistical categories of pass defense (194.4 yards per game) and total defense (203.6 yards per game). The Blizzard offense will seek to continue the momentum of last weeks win over Cincinnati against whom they put up season high numbers, scoring 48 points in a comeback win.
