Amarillo Venom News Release
The Amarillo Dusters are pleased to announce that NFL Veteran Shawn Morgan has been assigned to the team from the af2 league office.
Morgan (6'3, 260 lbs) is a Defensive End from Fayetteville State University. As a senior at FSU, he set a school record with 18 sacks.
In 2005, he was signed by the Green Bay Packers and allocated to NFL Europe where he started at Defensive End for the Hamberg Sea Devils. After being released by the Packers in training camp, he signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2006. That spring, he started at Defensive End for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFLEurope.
"Shawn should bring an immediate impact to our pass rush," said Dusters Head Coach Steve Perdue. "He has NFL experience, and he was a four-year starter in college. He's mature, and ready to prove himself in arena football. We're excited about having him with us."
The Dusters face the Rio Grande Valley Dorados in South Texas on Saturday night. The broadcast can be heard on 91.1 FM, KWTS Radio, or on the internet at www.dustersfootball.com.
