Louisville Fire News Release
Louisville, KY - On Friday, May 25, 2007 the Louisville Fire (4-3) travels to Moline, IL to battle the Quad City Steamwheelers (4-3) for a divisional match-up beginning a four-game stretch against divisional foes. The Fire are going into the contest fresh off of a three game winning streak recently defeating the Alabama Steeldogs (4-3) 53-35 in a grudge match.
The Steamwheelers experienced success earlier in the season with three impressive wins only to regress with three consecutive losses. Last week the Steamwheelers rebounded with a win against the Everett Hawks (1-6) 63-54. Steamwheelers QB J.J. Raterink completed 27 of 32 passes for 257 yards and six touchdowns. WR/LB Jack Walker Jr. had 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
On Friday night the sixth ranked Fire offense will battle the 29th ranked Steamwheelers defense led by red-hot QB Joel Steele. Even though the Fire will be without one of their main weapons WR Tony Stallings, they still have a cache of weapons to choose from keeping the Steamwheelers at bay. This contest is of great importance to the Fire looking to stay atop of the Midwest division and finding FB/LB Demetrius Forney knocking on the door of the Louisville Fire all-time rushing record.
The Fire return home to Freedom Hall on June 2, 2007 to take on their next divisional foe, the Green Bay Blizzard at 7:00pm.
