Kamloops Blazers News Release
Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers announced today that they have signed 15-year-old forwards Brodi Stuart and Carson Denomie to standard WHL education agreements.
Stuart was selected by the Blazers in the fourth round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
The 5'9" and 150lb forward from Langley, BC played with the Delta Academy Bantam Prep team last season.
He had seven goals and 20 points in 18 games. Stuart will play this season with the Delta Academy Midget Prep team with fellow 15-year-old prospect Luke Zazula.
Denomie was chosen by the Blazers in the fifth round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. He played Bantam AA with the Regina Blues posting 36 goals and 59 points in 30 games.
The 6'0" and 178lb forward from Regina, SK is expected to play with the Regina Pat Canadians Midget AAA team this season.
"Brodi and Carson both had strong training camps with us in late August," commented Director of Player Personnel, Matt Recchi. "Brodi is a skilled player that works hard and has good speed. Carson is a big kid who skates well and plays more of a power-forward type of game."
The Blazers have now signed five of their top six picks from the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
In other news, the Blazers roster is down to 26 players after the weekend. After each player suited up for a WHL preseason game, 15-year-olds Jackson Shepard, Devan Harrison and Luke Zazula have returned home to join their respective Midget teams.
Shepard will play for the Northwest Giants of the B.C. Major Midget League, Harrison will play for the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget League, and Zazula will play for the Delta Academy Midget Prep team this season.
