MNP Announces Return of MVT Program
September 8, 2015 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. - Twenty-five seats for every Brandon Wheat Kings home game will be awarded to young athletes and coaches as the Western Hockey League club has announced the return of the popular MNP "Most Valuable Team" (MVT) Program for the 2015-16 season.
The initiative, introduced by MNP two years ago, supports youth involved in amateur athletics and recognizes the volunteer efforts of their coaches.
"A lot of kids across western Manitoba look up to the Wheat Kings, so we're excited to give them a chance to see their favorite team in action live at Westman Place," says Dan Trotter, a Regional Managing Partner at MNP. "Our firm has always been committed to Brandon and surrounding communities, and this program is a great opportunity for us to support these teams and promote the importance of physical activity."
"We know that being social and feeling like a part of a community is one of the great benefits of local team sports and we're happy to have a program in place that helps to make this possible," Trotter went on to say. "When we receive thank-you letters and phone calls from the parents and coaches it reassures us that MNP is doing the right thing."
The MNP MVT program is open to western Manitoba athletes ages eight to seventeen and their coaches or assistant coaches. Youth teams from any sport can apply, from minor hockey to swimming and high school sports.
Applications to attend Wheat Kings' Saturday night home games this season, beginning with the October 10th game against the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings, are now being accepted. Coaches, managers or other team officials can enter their team online at www.wheatkings.com or email Leanne.zamrykut@mnp.ca
In addition to the tickets, all winning teams will receive complimentary copies of the Wheat Kings 2015-16 Souvenir Program. As well, each week the winning team will be introduced during the game on the Video Scoreboard at Westman Communications Group Place.
MNP has a long history of supporting sport throughout western Canada and is committed to helping community organizations through programs like the MVT Program and this partnership with the Wheat Kings.
