Blazers Shutout Thunder

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK- The Wichita Thunder dropped a 4-0 decision to the Oklahoma City Blazers at the Ford Center on Tuesday night. The Blazers had four different players account for their goals, including a short handed tally from Brian Passmore at 11:23 in the second period that gave Oklahoma City a 3-0 lead. Robin Gomez, D.J. Jelitto, and Bill Vandemeer also scored goals.

Krister Toews took the loss in net, playing for the first time since November 28th. Toews saved 22 of 26 shots.

Wichita outshot Oklahoma City 27 to 26, but fell to 0-7-1 when outshooting their opponents. The Thunder was scoreless in eight power play attempts, while the penalty kill unit was a perfect five for five. The game marked the second time in three contests that Wichita has been shutout. The Thunder has scored one goal during that stretch.

The Thunder is back in action Friday night when they return to the Ford Center for another match with the Blazers. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
