
Blazers Rally Past Giants In Shootout

Alex Rodgers tied the game with 34 seconds left and Shayne Wiebe scored the deciding goal in the shootout as the Blazers rallied from 1-0 and 4-3 down to get past the Giants 5-4 last night in Kamloops.
Spencer Machacek opened the scoring 26 seconds in before Brock Nixon - shorthanded - and CJ Stretch gave the Blazers a 2-1 lead after one. Craig Schira scored 5-on-3 to pull the Giants even, Jordan Rowley's first WHL goal put the Blazers back in front, with Mitch Czibere tying the game with a minute left in the second. James Wright gave the Giants a 4-3 lead early in the third before Rodgers tied the game with Justin Leclerc on the bench for the extra attacker.
After overtime, the Blazers scored four goals on seven shootout chances with Leclerc stopping Machacek on the final Vancouver chance.
Final shots were 32 apiece with Leclerc getting the win and Tyson Sexsmith taking the SOL.
The Blazers were 0-for-3 on the PP and 5-for-6 on the PK.
