Blazers prevail over Tigers

Zak Stebner scored once and added two assists and Justin Leclerc made 36 saves as the Blazers came through with a 6-4 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night at ISC.

Sean Ringrose and Tyler Ennis scored first-period goals - sandwiching Stebner's powerplay marker - to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead after one. The Blazers scored the only two goals of the second period as Tyler Shattock and Kenton Dulle - on a penalty shot - staked the Blazers to a 3-2 lead after 2. Brendan Ranford opened up a 4-2 Blazer lead before Linden Vey scored twice in three minutes to tie the game at 4. Shayne Wiebe then scored the winner at 6:38 of the third before Shattock ended the scoring with an empty netter.

Final shots were 40-30 Tigers with Justin Leclerc getting the win and Ryan Holfeld taking the loss. The Blazers were 1-for-2 on the powerplay and the Tigers were 2-for-7.
