Blazers Host Two Home Games this Week

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers will be hosting games on Wednesday and Saturday night as the Victoria Royals and Vancouver Giants visit the ISC this week.

The Kamloops Blazers will be hosting 'Aboriginal Night' this Wednesday, February 22nd as they host the Victoria Royals. The Blazers will be wearing special themed jerseys to honour the local Tk'emlups Indian Band. There will be a ceremonial face off with Chief Shane Gottfriedson as well as a performance by the Sage Hill Drummers prior to the start of the game and during the second intermission.

Fans will also have a chance to win one of the special themed jerseys, autographed by the team. A table will be set up behind Section U in sponsor's corner with tickets being sold throughout the game for a toonie. All of the proceeds for the jersey raffle will go to the United Way.

The annual Canadian Western Bank 'Dash For Cash' will be held on Saturday, February 25th when the Blazers host the Vancouver Giants. $3000 in loonies will be dropped in the centre ice circle with 15 contestants having 90 seconds to collect as many loonies as possible. All of the remaining money will be donated to Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Kamloops.

There are two ways to enter to have a chance as one of the 15 contestants. You can sign up at the Canadian Western Bank located off of Summit Drive, or you can sign up at the games this week on Wednesday and Saturday at the Draw Box Table in front of the Blazers' Corner Store.

Ten contestants will be chosen from the Canadian Western Bank entry box, and five more contestants will be selected during the game on Saturday night. Contestants will have until the first period timeout to enter and will be announced during the second period timeout.
