
Blast Fall to Sockers 5-1

San Diego, CA - The Blast traveled to San Diego Wednesday night looking to sweep the season series with the Sockers but a poor second half that led to four San Diego goals gave the home team a 5-1 victory.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Sockers would strike first in the second with a goal from Taylor Bond at the 5:04 mark. Two minutes later, Mo N'Diaye tied the score at one off a feed from Vini Dantas.
Both teams created chances but William Vanzela and Boris Pardo each made key saves to keep the game tied heading into halftime.
The third quarter saw San Diego erupt for three goals as Kraig Chiles, Brian Farber and Hiram Ruiz took advantage of Baltimore lapses on defense to take a commanding 4-1 lead going into the 4th quarter.
Leonardo De Oliveira added a tally at 10:34 of the 4th quarter to secure
the win for the Sockers. Blast goalie William Vanzela finished the night with 6 saves while Boris Pardo ended his night with 15 saves for San Diego.
The Blast fall to 10-7 on the season and return home this Saturday for a crucial matchup against the Harrisburg Heat. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:05pm from the SECU Arena.
