
Blast Defeat Heat 8-3

The Blast traveled to Harrisburg on Thursday night for an Eastern Division matchup against the Heat. In the third game of the season between the two teams the Blast were again victorious. The Blast defeated the Heat 8-3 to remain undefeated.
The Heat got on the board first when Patrick Thompson scored a goal to open the game. The Blast would answer quickly when Tony Donatelli tied the game at 1 with a goal assisted by Jinho Kim. At the 17:48 mark Donatelli and Kim would connect again as Tony Donatelli scored his fifth goal of the season. At the end of the first the Blast led 2-1.
Jinho Kim would extend the Blast lead in the second with his third goal of the season assisted by Vini Dantas. At the 8:15 mark Harrisburg would cut the lead to 1 when Lucio Gonzaga scored for the Heat. Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela recorded 5 saves in the half and the Blast went into the locker room leading 3-2.
The Blast came out aggressive in the second half. Only 16 seconds in Tony Donatelli completed a hat trick with his third goal of the game assisted by Lucas Roque. Moments later the Blast leading scorer, Vini Dantas, found the back of the net for his 13th goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Juan Pereira and was the 8th consecutive game Dantas has recorded a goal. Marcos Chantel would add a goal for the Heat at the 8:03 mark but Blast captain, Pat Healey, would answer with his fourth goal of the season assisted by Lucas Roque to put the Blast back up by 3. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 6-3.
The Blast continued to add to their lead during the final quarter. Andrew Hoxie scored his ninth goal of the season off an assist from Adriano Dos Santos followed by Tony Donatelli recording his fourth goal of the night, which was assisted by Levi Houapeu, to seal the Blast victory. The final score was Blast 8 Heat 3.
The Blast move to 8-0 on the season. The Blast were lead offensively by Tony Donatelli who recorded four goals on the night. Jinho Kim recorded a goal and added 2 assists. Goalkeeper William Vanzela recorded 15 saves in the victory. The Blast will return home this Saturday, January 2nd, to take on the Syracuse Silver Knights. Kickoff is at 7:35p.m. from the Royal Farms Arena.
