
Blake Ahearn Sets Record In Erie Win

OREM, UT, March 15, 2010 - The Utah Flash played host to the Erie BayHawks for their third game in four nights. Erie came out with energy and beat Utah by a score of 111-101. Blake Ahearn set An Erie BayHawks franchise record with 38 points.
Utah jumped out to a five point lead after the first quarter. Starting off hot for the Flash was Koufos who had 10 points in the quarter including a pair of impressive dunks.
During the second quarter the BayHawks found a rhythm behind the hot shooting of Ahearn. He finished the first half leading all scorers with 22 points. Utah took a 54-53 lead into the half.
Utah and Erie continued their back and forth battle during the third quarter with neither team gaining more than a five point advantage. The game continued on the same pace well into the fourth quarter. Utah remained competitive behind a balanced scoring attack including six players in double digits.
Mike Gansey kept Erie in the game with his potent outside shooting. Gansey was 4 of 6 behind the arc and put up 33 points for the BayHawks.
In the end Utah couldn't take advantage of the 4,000-plus home crowd. Kevin Kruger led the Flash with 24 points while Kosta Koufos and Bennett Davis chipped in 15 apiece.
Erie was led by Ahearn's 38 points and Gansey's 33 points. Erie's four game win streak was extended to five and they return to face the Dakota Wizards this Friday.
