Rio Grande Valley's Kenny Hasbrouck Signs With Miami Heat

NEW YORK, March 16, 2010 - The Miami Heat today signed rookie Kenny Hasbrouck of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, making him the 25th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2009-10 NBA D-League season. Hasbrouck is the record fifth Viper to earn a spot in the NBA this season, and joins four players with NBA D-League experience n the Heat's roster.

Hasbrouck, a 6-3 guard out of Siena, has appeared in 10 games, nine starts, for the Vipers this season, averaging 16.9 points, 2.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 32.3 minutes. He has scored in double figures seven times, including a season-high 29 points in a 116-114 loss to the Bakersfield Jam in California on March 6.

Hasbrouck finished a decorated four-year career at Siena in 2009, when he was named MAAC Player of the Year and earned an Associated Press NCAA All-America Honorable Mention. During his senior season, Hasbrouck averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 35 games. In his first collegiate season, Hasbrouck was named MAAC Rookie of the Year.

Following his career as a Saint, Hasbrouck played with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He also took part in the Heat's summer mini-camp before missing training camp with an injury.

Hasbrouck is expected to join the Heat in Miami today and be in uniform tonight when the team hosts the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Arena.
