Los Angeles Rallies In The Fourth But Bakersfield Takes The Win

El Segundo, CA- The Los Angeles D-Fenders (15-26) rallied in the fourth quarter but fell to the Bakersfield Jam (15-28), Tuesday afternoon at the Toyota Sports Center.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders trailed throughout the first quarter, with the Bakersfield Jam leading by as many as 12 points in the first. Ryan Forehan-Kelly led the D-Fenders in the first period with seven points, while Will Daniels and Brian Butch carried the Jam with 11 points apiece. Bakersfield had the advantage at the close of the quarter, 35-25.

The D-Fenders went on a run at the beginning of the second quarter, cutting their deficit to one point (35-34) with 9:46 on the clock. Los Angeles outscored their opponent 33-27 in the second period but fell short of taking the lead in the first half. Dar Tucker led his team at the half with 12 points. Reece Gaines grabbed 10 points in the second period, contributing to the Jam's 62-58 half time lead.

Bakersfield maintained their lead, finishing the third quarter with a 90-88 advantage over the home team. Alade Aminu of the Jam tallied 16 of his 26 points in the third period. At the end of the quarter, Los Angeles had five players in double figures, Michael Fey leading with 17.

The D-Fenders took their first lead of the game early in the fourth quarter, bringing the score to 92-90. Los Angeles battled late in the game but Bakersfield was able to outscore the home team, 27-24 in the final period, sealing the win 117-112.

James Peters led the D-Fenders with 19 points, while teammate Michael Fey added 17 points and eight rebounds. Aminu carried the Jam with 30 points and 13 rebounds and Trey Johnson chipped in with 27 points.
