Bladimir Restituyo's Inside-The-Park Home Run Lifts Boise to a 3-0 Win over Eugene

Boise Hawks News Release

EUGENE, OR - An inside-the-park home run from Bladimir Restituyo lifted the Boise Hawks (Short Season A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies) to a 3-0 victory over the Eugene Emeralds (Short Season A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs).

Luke Chevalier made his first start of the season for the Hawks and shined on the mound. He threw three innings and allowed three hits and walk while striking out four Emeralds.

Sacrifices were common in the ballgame for Boise. The first run came off a fly ball to left by Ezequiel Tovar that scored Restituyo for a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning.

Then Restituyo dazzled when he hit his third home run in one of the rarest forms, inside-the-park style. He lined a ball to right-center field and after the right fielder missed the ball off a dive, it rolled onto the warning track. Restituyo rounded third immediately and safely slid at home for the homer, making it 2-0 Hawks in the top of the fifth.

Vladimir Dilone then sent a sacrifice fly to center field to score Micahel Toglia from third base to make it 3-0 Hawks in the top of the sixth inning.

Jacob Wallace notched his sixth save of the season and is currently tied for the lead in the Northwest League. After giving up a ground-rule double to Jake Slaughter, Wallace responded with a strikeout on six pitches, then induced two consecutive flyouts to end the game.

Boise starts the second half with the 3-0 win over Eugene and will start at 7:05 PDT tomorrow.
