BRANDON M.B. - The Saskatoon Blades defeat the Brandon Wheat Kings by a score of 4-1 Saturday night.

The Wheat Kings started out with pressure inside the Blades zone outshooting the Blades 10-1 at one point but it was the Blades who scored the opening goal with Aiden De La Gorgendiere scoring from the point on the powerplay to give the Blades an early 1-0 lead. Then with 18 seconds remaining in the first period Brett Hyland would give Andrei Malyavin a lane to skate right in and beat Austin Elliott to tie it up heading into the 2nd period.

The Blades maintained puck possession in the second frame and had a handful of powerplay attempts. During their 4th powerplay oppurtunity of night for the Blades Jordan Keller would fire a left side circle shot top corner passed Carson Bjarnason to give the Blades a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.

It was a disasterous start to the third period with Nate Danielson's skate blade coming loose in his own zone allowing Brandon Lisowsky to steal the puck and beat Bjarnason to extend the Blades lead to 3-1 only 60 seconds into the period. Then with 12:14 remaining Jordan Keller would score his second of the night to make it 4-1 which would eventually be the final.
