Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Paul Cabana has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve list and forward Sean Stefanski has been activated from the 7-day IR. As per club policy the injury was not disclosed.
Cabana, 27, suffered an injury during Florida's 4-3 shootout win against Augusta on Saturday, November 5. The Calgary, Alberta native is the Everblades second leading scorer this season with five points (3g, 2a) in four games. Last season Cabana tallied 11 goals and 17 assists in 62 total games between three teams. Cabana saw action in just seven regular season games with the Everblades last year, scoring six points (1g, 5a), but his biggest contribution came during the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs where he tallied 17 points (7g, 10a) in 17 of the Everblades post-season games, which ranked third on the team.
Prior to joining the Everblades last year, Cabana skated in 23 games with the Reading Royals notching four goals and one assist, and began the 2004-05 season with the Quad City Mallards of the United Hockey League where he cashed in 17 points (6g, 11a) in 32 games.
Stefanski, 22, becomes active on the Everblades roster after missing the first four games while on the IR. The Peterborough, Ontario native will make his professional debut this season after spending the 2004-05 season with Lakehead University in Thunder Bay Ontario, where he picked up nine points (3g, 6a) in 19 games. Prior to last season Stefanski spent four years in the Ontario Hockey League with six different clubs.
