Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings are excited to host the first Professional hockey game at the brand new, 7000 seat, Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in just two days.
Victoria will face the Stockton Thunder on Thursday November 10th and there are still great seats available. The Victoria Salmon Kings Hockey Club has organized a nostalgic tribute to professional hockey in Victoria. The hockey club encourages all sporting fans in the city to come and enjoy an evening of exciting entertainment that will be a fundraising night for KidsSport, and the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame.
The Salmon Kings second game of the season is on November 11th, and with 2005 being the "Year of the Veteran" the Victoria Salmon Kings are honoured to remember those who have dedicated their lives to our country and celebrate those who continue to serve in the Canadian Military. The Salmon Kings will welcome the NADEN Band, a Colour Party and the OP NIJMEGEN Marching Team to help us pay tribute on such an important occasion.
On Saturday November 12th the Salmon Kings will commemorate the accomplishments of the riders and Honourary riders of the 2005 Tour de Rock. Every year police men and women ride the length of Vancouver Island to raise money for kids with cancer. Cops for Cancer received over one million dollars for the riders efforts this year. The Salmon Kings will introduce the 2005 team members in a pre-game ceremony.
"The entire Victoria Salmon Kings organization recognizes the many great achievements of those in our community who strive to make the world we live in safer. The Salmon Kings are dedicated to being involved in as many of these events as possible and committed to making Victoria and Vancouver Island a healthier environment, said Adam Olsen, Community Relations Manager of the Victoria Salmon Kings.
Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the Victoria Salmon Kings community involvement including some very exciting Holiday events.
