
Venedam Named Runner-Up for ECHL Player of the Week

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The ECHL named Condors forward Sean Venedam runner-up for the In Glas Co Player of the Week Award for the week of October 31st to November 6th.
Venedam, 29, had a busy weekend that included a four-point performance (1g, 3a) in the Condors' 5-4 shootout loss to San Diego Friday night. The following evening, Venedam recorded a hat trick, including the game-winner in overtime to seal a 4-3 win over Las Vegas. All three of Venedam's goals came on the power play, catapulting the Valley East, Ontario native into a tie for the league lead in power play goals with 4.
The 5-foot-10 forward is 8 goals away from his 200th professional goal. Entering this season, Venedam scored 188 goals in 555 games after completing his major junior career with the Sudbury Wolves in 1997. Venedam has won both the ECHL's Kelly Cup Championship (with Greenville in 2001-02) and the UHL's Colonial Cup title (with Fort Wayne in 2002-03). He has suited up with the Canadian National Team in international play, and has played 14 games in the AHL with the Adirondack Red Wings and the Hershey Bears.
The Bakersfield Condors visit the Las Vegas Wranglers this Friday and Saturday. The Condors return home on November 17th when they host San Diego on High School/College ID Night presented by the WB 12 and 106.1 KRAB Radio.
