
Blades see changes to roster

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that goaltender Anton Khudobin has been recalled by the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League and that defenseman Luke Beaverson has been placed on the injured reserve list.
The call-up is the second this year to Houston for Khudobin, although he did not play in a game with the Aeros during his last call-up. The 22-year-old has seen action in 33 games with the Everblades this season posting an 18-10-1 record with a 2.71 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
Last season the native of Kazakhstan split time between Houston and Texas of the ECHL. In 12 games with the Aeros in 2007-08 Khudobin was 2-2-1 with a 1.99 GAA. The former 7th round draft pick by the Minnesota Wild in 2004 earned ECHL Goaltender of the Year honors after posting an impressive 20-1-4 record with a 1.98 GAA in 27 games with Texas.
In addition to the call-up the Everblades today placed Beaverson placed on the 3-day IR after suffering an injury in Florida's 4-2 win over Johnstown on February 27. The 24-year-old has three assists in 20 games with the Everblades this year.
The Everblades also activated defenseman A.J. Thelen from the 30-day IR today. The 22-year-old has played in 20 games with the Everblades this season notching eight points (1g, 7a). The former first round draft pick by the Wild in 2004 returns to the lineup for the first time since December 28.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they host the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
