Blades get two added from AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush, along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the club has made changes to its roster prior to the start of the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The Everblades today had defenseman Brad Brown reassigned to the club from the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League, as well as defenseman Franklin MacDonald who has been reassigned to the team from the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

Brown, a former 1st round draft pick taken 18th overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, signed with the Blades in January and saw action in 26 games scoring two goals and adding one assist along with 68 penalty minutes in the first ECHL action of his 12-year career before getting called up to Hartford. The 32-year-old played in 10 games with the Wolfpack, registering one assist and five penalty minutes during his two and a half week stint in Hartford.

MacDonald returns to the Everblades after skating in 51 games with Rochester where he scored 14 points (1g, 13a) and recorded 70 penalty minutes. MacDonald, who turned 23 today, began the season with the Everblades by playing in 11 games, scoring two goals and adding six assists.

Along with the additions to the roster, the Everblades also announced today that defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk and forward J.B. Bittner have been placed on the 3-day Injured Reserve list. Van Buskirk finished the regular season with 13 points in 55 games and Bittner closed our the regular season with 15 points in 44 games.
