Tonight
The Saskatoon Blades (23-16-1-1) look to return to winning form as they welcome the Calgary Hitmen (18-16-5-2) into SaskTel Centre for the second time this season.
Winning Wednesday is back for the first time since December, giving every fan in attendance the chance to score tickets! Cheer loud and proud for the boys in white, and if the Blades win, each member in attendance will receive a free ticket to Friday's home-game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The Blades are coming off a see-saw weekend, first topping the conference-leading Edmonton Oil Kings 6-1 on Friday before falling by the same score to Red Deer the next night.
Despite the lopsided setback on Saturday, Saskatoon has been red hot since the turn of the new year, winning six of the last eight and piling up 38 goals during that stretch.
This is the third game as part of a five-game home-stand for the Blades. They'll welcome Lethbridge on Friday - the fourth Alberta team to appear at SaskTel Centre in four games - before wrapping up the home-stand on Saturday against Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats.
Who to Watch
Alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic sits second in the WHL scoring race with 63 points on the season, one back of Red Deer's Arshdeep Bains. The draft-eligible forward has found the scoresheet in 10 of the last 12 games, collecting an impressive 27 points over that time. This includes six points (3G-3A) over the last three games.
NHL draft-eligible forward Brandon Lisowsky notched the lone goal in last Saturday's loss to Red Deer, netting his 23rd of the campaign to open the scoring in the first period. Listed 87th in NHL Central Scouting's midterm rankings for North American skaters, the Port Coquitlam, BC product has goals in three of the last five games, including a two-goal effort on January 22nd vs. Winnipeg.
Stingy forward Jayden Wiens continues to climb the scoring charts, having more than doubled his career-high for points with 29 (15G-14A) on the season. The Pride of Carrot River, SK was named the Foursight Player of the Month for January, and also dressed his 100th career game last Saturday vs. Red Deer.
