The Americans are beginning a four game road trip with a pair of games in Kamloops against the Blazers. Tonight will be the second game between the two teams this season. They will wrap up their three game season series on Friday in Kamloops.
Tri-City took a 5-4 victory in their only other meeting this season. The Americans trailed 4-0 after the first period and went on to score five straight goal to earn the comeback victory. Sam Huo and Jake Sloan each had a pair of goals for the Americans. Logan Stankoven lead scoring that night for the Blazers with two goals and one assist. Tri-City will look to continue their success against Kamloops and snap a six game losing streak. Since falling in Kennewick on January 14, the Blazers are 10-1-0-0 with their most recent loss coming to the Winterhawks.
Tri-City's second overall selection from the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, Jordan Gavin, has been called up from Delta HA U17 and will join the team for the three games in BC. The Surrey, BC native has totalled 81 points (36 goals and 45 assists) in 20 games played with Delta.
The Americans most recently played last Saturday at the Toyota Center as they were defeated 6-1 by the Kelowna Rockets, extending their losing streak to six games. Chase Friedt-Mohr scored Tri-City's lone goal in the third period, ending an 11 period scoring drought. The goal was Friedt-Mohr's third of the season and first since joining the Americans. Nick Avakyan played the full game in net, turning aside 23 of 29 shots faced.
