Blades Draft Forward and Defenceman in U.S. Priority Draft

The Saskatoon Blades added two new prospects to their organization Wednesday during the WHL U.S. Priority Draft.

With the 19th overall pick in the draft, Saskatoon selected 2008-born forward Daniel Peate from Anaheim, CA. The 5-foot-7 right-handed shot suited up for 40 games with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks U14 AAA squad scoring 38 goals and 58 points, tacking on 54 penalty minutes as well. Peate also played ten games with JSerra Catholic High of the United States High School - California (USHS-CA) league tallying three goals and eight points.

Saskatoon added to their back end in Round 2 selecting defenceman Luke Host 41st overall. The Columbine Valley, CO product tallied two assists in ten games with the Colorado Springs Tigers 14U AAA club, collecting two penalty minutes as well. In five games with Okanagan HA Colorado 14U AAA, the 5-foot-7 blueliner registered one goal and one assist.

The Blades shift their focus to the WHL Prospects Draft Thursday, May 11th, with the first round beginning at 10:00am.

Saskatoon currently own the 21st overall pick in that draft.
