ONE STEP CLOSER: The Saskatoon Blades moved two points closer to the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy with a 6-3 victory Friday at SaskTel Centre over the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Washington Capitals prospect Alexander Suzdalev left everyone in awe with a Michigan goal late in the first period, the first of two tucks on the night. The 6-foot-3 sniper snapped a seven-game goal drought, giving him nine total on the season. In 27 games, Suzdalev has 21 points and may be finding his stride ahead of the most important time of the year.

Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Brandon Lisowsky tied his career-high of 38 goals after lighting the lamp twice along with an assist. The Port Coquitlam, BC product has a career-high 74 points in 64 games, seven (4G, 3A) coming in his last six games.

2005-born forward Tyler Parr earned third star on the evening with a goal and an assist. The La Salle, MB product ended and 11-game point drought and has 31 (11G, 20A) in 62 games.

The Blades need five points (either earned by the Blades or lost by the Portland Winterhawks) to claim top regular season team for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

NEXT GAME: The Blades and Warriors lock horns again tomorrow night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Puck drop for the season-series finale is 7:00pm.
