Wilson Tobs News Release
WILSON, N.C.- The Wilson Tobs want to remind all fans that tomorrow July 9, 2011 The Thomasville HiToms will be in town to take on the Tobs. The Tobs invite all fans to wear black clothes to try to blackout Thomasville. HiToms coach Jeff Steele makes his first trip back to Historic Fleming Stadium after coaching the Tobs for the past six seasons. The Tobs will be wearing their black uniforms on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 7:05pm. For tickets please call the Tobs Ticket office at (252)-291-8627.
The Wilson Tobs are a proud member of the Costal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 15th season in 2011, the CPL features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both the players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 930 alumni drafted and 44 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
