Outer Banks cushioned their lead with a solo home run by Alexander Aurrichio off Jordan Egan in the top of the sixth to finish the scoring, and push the lead to 9-5.

Joe Spring, who entered the game in bottom of the fifth in relief of Matt Pierpont, was dinged for two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Brett Christopher singled to start the inning. Joey Wendle flew out for the first out and Brian Blasik singled. Adam Giacalone drove in Christopher with a single to make it 9-6 and Zach Stewart drove in Blasik with a single to make it 9-7 DareDevils.
