Blackhawks Assign Cumiskey to Rockford

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have loaned defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs .

Cumiskey, 27, has played in 132 career NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche from 2006-2011, scoring 35 points (9g-26a). A seventh-round draft pick (No. 222 overall) for the Avalanche in 2005, Cumiskey signed a one-year contract with the Blackhawks on July 2, 2014.

The native of Abbotsford, British Columbia has 81 points (19g-61a) in 238 career AHL games with the Albany River Rats (2006-07), Lake Erie Monsters (2007-09) and Syracuse Crunch (2011-12). Cumiskey has spent the past two seasons playing with MODO Hockey Ornskoldsvik of the Swedish Hockey League.

The defenseman will join the IceHogs on their current road trip through the AHL's North Division. Rockford's lineup now stands at 26 players, consisting of 15 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 25 vs. Chicago Wolves, Puck drop is 7 p.m. The IceHogs will kick off the next installment of the Illinois Lottery Cup when the Wolves visit the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 5,000 fans through the gate will leave with an IceHogs magnetic schedule courtesy of T6 Broadband.
