Blackhawks Acquire Latta in Exchange for Schilling

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks, the NHL affiliate of the Rockford IceHogs, announced today that they have acquired forward Michael Latta from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenseman Cameron Schilling. Latta will report to the IceHogs.
Latta, 25, has notched two goals and four assists along with 67 PIM in 29 games with the AHL's Ontario Reign this season. He split the previous four seasons (2012-16) with the Hersey Bears (AHL) and Washington Capitals (NHL), skating in 113 National Hockey League games while tallying four goals and 13 helpers.
The Kitchener, Ontario native was a third-round pick (72nd overall) of the Nashville Predators in the 2009 NHL Draft, and began his professional career with the Milwaukee Admirals. Latta skated in 122 regular season games with the Admirals from 2010-13, posting 23g-30a-53pts along with 286 PIM. His AHL career includes 212 games with Milwaukee, Hersey, and Ontario with a total of 40g-67a-107pts to go with 501 PIM.
Schilling ranked tied for second on the IceHogs with seven goals in the current campaign and his 17 points placed him tied for fifth. In his IceHogs career, the Carmel, Ind. native has 12g-27a-39pts in 113 games.
Next Home Game: Friday, January 27 vs. the Iowa Wild at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 fans 21 years and older will receive a cooler backpack courtesy of Bud Light. A Blue Flame Lounge Pre-Game Party will kick off Friday night at 5:15 p.m. and includes free appetizers and happy-hour specials. The meeting marks the 5th matchup of the season, with both teams' each recording two victories in the previous contests.
