KODAK, Tenn. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Tennessee Smokies at Smokies Park at 7:15 p.m.
Infielder Danny Black has been transferred to Jacksonville from Triple-A New Orleans. Black played in 47 games with the Zephyrs and hit .198 with two home runs and 11 RBI. Black began the season with Jacksonville, and in 63 games with the Suns hit .225 with two homers and 21 RBI. Black played all of last season in Jacksonville, where he hit .200 with a pair of homers in 98 games played.
In a corresponding move, infielder Yosmany Guerra has been transferred from the Suns to High-A Jupiter. Guerra played in 14 games for the Suns, hitting .143 (5-for-35) with a home run and a RBI.
Also, left-handed pitcher Raudel Lazo, who has not pitched in a game this season, was transferred from Jacksonville's disabled list to High-A Jupiter.
The Suns roster now stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.
Tonight the Suns will start left-hander Justin Nicolino (12-4, 3.05) for his 2014 Suns debut, while the Smokies are yet to announce their starter.
