
Ha transferred to Triple-A Iowa; Francescon placed on Disabled List

KODAK - The Chicago Cubs announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to this afternoon's contest against the Jacksonville Suns at Smokies Stadium.
Outfielder Jae-Hoon Ha has been transferred from Tennessee to Triple-A Iowa. In 117 games with the Smokies this season, the 23-year-old posted a .226 average (98-434), adding five homers and 49 RBI, the latter ranking second on the team overall this year.
In a corresponding move, outfielder Rubi Silva has been activated from the Disabled List. Prior to being placed on the DL on June 29, 24-year-old recorded a .256 clip (71-277), adding six homers and 38 RBI in 74 games with Tennessee.
In addition, right-handed reliever P.J. Francescon has been placed on the Disabled List, retroactive to August 24. In 43 appearances for Tennessee during the 2014 campaign, the 25-year-old has compiled an 11-6 record and 3.52 ERA (27 ER in 69.0 IP).
In a corresponding move, catcher Luis Flores has been activated from the Disabled List. The 27-year-old backstop has accrued a .273 average (27-99), adding three homers and 13 RBI in 31 contests with the Smokies in 2014.
Tennessee's active roster stands at 25, in addition to LHP Felix Doubront on his Major League Rehab Assignment, and a revised roster is attached.
The Smokies and Suns are set to face off in the fourth game of their series this evening at Smokies Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Tennessee is expected to give the ball to RHP C.J. Edwards (1-1, 2.31 ERA), while Jacksonville is anticipated to send LHP Justin Nicolino (12-4, 3.05 ERA) to the hill.
