Waterloo, Iowa - The Black Hawks downed the Stars, 3-2, in Young Arena on Saturday night.
David Cotton opened the scoring for the Black Hawks at 6:35 of the first period, redirecting a shot over the right pad of Stars goalie Patrik Virtanen to make it 1-0.
The Stars answered six minutes later when Grant Jozefek connected with Patrick Polino, who deked Waterloo goalie Cale Morris to make it 1-1 at the first intermission.
Lincoln took the lead early in the second when Adam Brady scored his eighth of the season. The lone assist went to Biagio Lerario.
Brady's goal separated the teams until the final minute of the second when Ronnie Hein buried a rebound past Virtanen to make it 2-2 after 40 minutes.
Waterloo forward Nick Swaney scored the only goal of the third period and the Black Hawks survived a late push to hold onto the victory.
