The West Virginia Black Bears took a loss to the State College Spikes with a final score of 5-1. The Black Bears pitching struggled in the first two innings, removing starting P Matt Anderson and bringing in relief pitcher Christian Mota. At bat, the Black Bears went six straight innings leaving runners stranded.

The Spikes furthered their lead in the top of the fourth on a double to left that would bring in a run giving them a three run lead, 4-1.

A solo homerun in the top of the fifth by Spikes' C Ryan McCarvel would put another run on the board, giving them a 5-1 lead.

The Black Bears brought the score one run closer in the bottom of the eighth when the Spikes gave up a single up the middle and a wild pitch that would move the runner to second. 3B Jordan George came up with a line drive to right, bringing in the run to make the score 5-2.

Both teams held off the opposing to end the game with a final score of 5-2 Spikes.
