Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees for the second game of a four-game series at PNC Field (7:00 p.m.). The Herd won the opener last night with a 4-2 victory over the Yanks. Buffalo is now 2-2 on a seven-game roadtrip that started with a three game series in Pawtucket. On the mound today is RHP Adam Miller. The Indians #1 prospect by Baseball America will be making his 2008 debut. The Yankees will counter with LHP Kei Igawa.
MILLER TIME: RHP Adam Miller gets the ball today for the first time in 2008. Miller spent the first three weeks of the season in extended spring training to build up his pitch count. Miller went 4-5 with a 4.82ERA in 19 games with the Bisons last year and had to battle through a pair of injuries that hampered his season. A bruised ligament on his right middle finger put him on the DL May 30-June 25 while inflammation in his right elbow landed him on the DL, July 29-August 19. Still, Miller finished the 2007 season 4th on the Bisons with 68 strikeouts and was named Cleveland's #1 prospect by Baseball America.
HAVE YOU HERR'D: Infielder Aaron Herr homered against last night, giving him three blasts in the last two games. He has hit in nine of his last 10 games with a .368 (14-38) batting average. In his last eight games, Herr has driven in 12 runs. He now has 15RBI on the season, tops on the Bisons and tied for the third most in the International League.
AIR JORDAN: Infielder Jordan Brown just keeps on hitting. A third consecutive multi-hit performance yesterday has given Brown 24 hits on the season, tied with two others for the most in the International League. Both of his hits in last night's victory were doubles and Brown now leads the entire IL with nine two-baggers. Brown also leads the Bisons with a .316 batting average and 13 runs scored. His five-game hit streak (.381, 8-21) is the longest active streak on the team.
ROCKIN' ROADIE: Outfielder Brad Snyder is hitting .333 (5-15) on the current roadtrip with four of the hits going for extra bases. Snyder has two doubles, two homeruns and two RBI on the four-game stretch. He is tied with Aaron Herr for the team-lead with four homers on the season.
