Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons face the Columbus Clippers in the finale game of a four-game series at Dunn Tire Park (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is looking for the series win following last night's 6-3 come from behind victory. On the hill will be RHP Sean Smith, who is coming off 5.2 innings of shutout baseball on Saturday night against Pawtucket. Columbus will counter with RHP Jerome Williams, who joined the Clippers today on rehab assignment.

VS. THE CLIPPERS: This is the final regular season game between Buffalo and Columbus this year. The Bisons are 6-1 against the Clippers this year. Buffalo has already visited Columbus, completing a four-game sweep at Cooper Stadium, April 13-16. The Herd has outscored the Clippers, 37-14, in the seven games.

DON'T FORGET: RHP Sean Smith's best outing of the season may have been overlooked thanks to the Bisons amazing nine-run ninth-inning rally on Saturday night. After Buffalo beat Pawtucket 15-14, the teams played a second seven-inning game where Smith shined. He struck out a season-high six and threw 5.2 shutout innings to win 5-0 and save a tired bullpen.

POWER BAT: Ryan Mulhern is providing some great run production in his first Triple-A season. The first baseman leads the Bisons in home runs (6 -T5th in the International League), RBI (22 -T3rd in the IL) and slugging percentage (.583, 4th in IL). Mulhern has also mixed in a .302 (29-96) average to his great start to the year.

COMEBACK KIDS: The Bisons have won five of six games during their current homestand despite the fact that they have only scored first in one of those games. On the season, the Herd is an impressive 8-4 when its opponents get on the scoreboard first. In four of the wins this homestand, Buffalo has trailed in the sixth inning or later.

HOMER FOR WINS: The Bisons are 15-1 this season in games they hit at least one home run. That includes a perfect 7-0 record when they hit one out at Dunn Tire Park.

HIGH OCTANE O: The Bisons' 167 runs in 29 games (5.8 runs/game) are the most in the International League. The total is (19 more than any other team and 40 more than the league average of 127. The Herd is also second in the IL in average (.273) and third in stolen bases (37) and hits (263).
