Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs at Coca-Cola Field in the first game of a four-game home-and-home series (7:05 p.m.). The teams will play over the weekend at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse. The Bisons opened their homestand with a 2-1 series win over Columbus. The Herd is 10-4 in its last 14 contests.

Last Game (BUF 4, COL 0)

LHP Scott Diamond threw his best game as a Bison, pitching a Herd season-high eight shutout innings to defeat Columbus, 4-0, in front of a School Kids Day crowd 16,866. Diamond did not walk a batter and benefited from a Buffalo season-high four doubleplays. DH Jesus Montero and C Tony Sanchez both homered in the victory.

vs. Syracuse (3-4)

This is the third series of the season between these Thruway Cup rivals. The teams split a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field, May 5-8, with the Herd winning the final two matchups. The Chiefs won two of three in a rain-shortened series in Syracuse, April 12-13.

Wade LeBlanc

Yesterday, LHP Wade LeBlanc was named the IL Player of the Month for May. The southpaw was 3-0 with a 0.70 ERA last month and brings a 33-inning streak without allowing an earned run into tonight's matchup. That stretch began with seven shutout innings in a victory over Syracuse on May 7. LeBlanc is tied for the IL lead with five wins and is second in ERA (1.29) and innings pitched (62.2).

A.J. Jimenez

C A.J. Jimenez was a perfect 3-for-3 in his last start on Tuesday. The catcher is now 17 for his last 43 at the plate, good for a .395 average since May 13. Jimenez has six doubles, a home run and 11 RBI during the 12-game stretch.

Ben Rowen

RHP Ben Rowen has made nine consecutive scoreless appearances for the Bisons, a 11-inning stretch that began on May 8...He leads all Bisons relievers with 20 appearances and has allowed just one of 15 inherited runners to score (6.7%).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons have a .500 record at home (12-12) for the first time since April 15 (1-1)...Buffalo has scored (191) and allowed (191) the exact same amount of runs this season...The Bisons have turned 11 doubleplays in their last five games, a stretch that began after they turned a triple play on May 27 in Toledo...1B Casey Kotchman has reached base safely in 14 of his last 15 games (.302, 16-53, 7BB).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays' (29-26) completed a sweep of the Yankees with a 7-0 shutout on Wednesday. Toronto has now won seven of their last eight games. SS Darwin Barney went 3-3 with two runs scored and is now hitting .344 for the Blue Jays. Toronto is off tonight and will open a three-game set in Boston on Friday (7:10 p.m.).
