Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons will host the Rochester Red Wings at Coca-Cola Field for the final regular-season home game of 2013 (6:05 p.m.). The Bisons will conclude the year with two games in Rochester followed by a pair of games in Syracuse. The Bisons are 34-37 at home this year.

Playoff Push

The Bisons are 4.5 games back of Norfolk for the IL's lone Wild Card spot. In fourth place, the Bisons can only afford one more defeat and need some help from the out-of-town scoreboard. Buffalo does own the tie-breaker against Rochester, Norfolk and Lehigh Valley.

The Thruway Cup

The Bisons (16-11) can clinch the 2013 Thruway Cup with a victory tonight over Rochester (14-15). It would be Buffalo's eighth Cup win in the 16-year history of the I-90 competition between the Red Wings and the Syracuse Chiefs.

Sean Nolin

LHP SEAN NOLIN will make his third start with the Bisons since being promoted from New Hampshire (AA) on August 17. The southpaw tossed 6.2 shutout innings in his Coca-Cola Field debut last Saturday against Lehigh Valley. Nolin was 8-3 with a 3.01 ERA in 17 starts with the Fisher Cats to begin the season.

Homering Herd

Home run from INF LUIS JIMENEZ and OF BRAD GLENN last night gave the Bisons 125 homers on the season. The total is tied with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the most in the International League. INF MAURO GOMEZ leads the Herd with 29 home runs, tied with Syracuse's Zach Walters for the most by any player in the IL.

Closing Time

RHP JEREMY JEFFRESS has made nine consecutive scoreless appearances for the Bisons since August 6. He has collected four saves in that span and allowed just six hits in 9.1 innings of work. On the season, Jeffress has allowed an earned run in only two of 22 appearances.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons' hold the IL North best divisional record of 40-35...INF MIKE McCOY has 28 stolen bases, the most for a Bisons player since 2000 (Dave Roberts, 39)...LHP LUIS PEREZ joined the Bisons on an MLB injury rehab assignment yesterday and gave up a run in 1.2 IP.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (60-74) have won three of four games after a 7-2 victory over the Yankees last night. Former Bisons INF RYAN GOINS had two hits and scored two runs while INF EDWIN ENCARNACION added his 34th home run of the season in the win. The Blue Jays are off tonight.
