Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons host the Louisville Bats in the finale of a three-game series from Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Bats have already won the series with victories on Friday night and yesterday afternoon. The Bisons are 2-4 on the current homestand that ends today. Tomorrow, the team will have its first scheduled off day of the season.
vs. the Bats
At 2-0 against the Bisons, Louisville has won its first series at Coca-Cola Field since a four-game sweep in July of 2008. The Bisons will hope to return the favor, June 4-7 when the teams play a four-game set at Louisville Slugger Field.
Randy Wolf
LHP RANDY WOLF makes his team-hit fifth start today. The veteran leads all Bisons pitchers with three wins (3-0) and 17 strikeouts this season. Wolf was great his last time out, tossing seven shutout innings in a no-decision on Tuesday against the Norfolk Tides. In that outing, he allowed just six hits while striking out five batters.
Roster Move
OF DALTON POMPEY joins the Bisons today after being optioned by Toronto on Saturday. Pompey made his first big league Opening Day roster and hit .193 with two homers and six RBI in 23 games for the Blue Jays. Pompey hit .358 with five doubles and six stolen bases in only 12 games with the Bisons last season.
Chris Colabello
INF CHRIS COLABELLO has picked up right where he left off after being named International League Player of the Month for April. The veteran has driven in a run in each of the last three games to lead the IL with 18 RBI on the year. Colabello has failed to reach base just once in 22 games this year, drawing 11 walks for a .429 on-base pct.
Bisons Bits
Along with teammate Chris Colabello, INF MATT HAGUE is tied for second in the IL with 15 RBI...At 3-0, LHP RANDY WOLF is one win away joining Indy's Charlie Leesman as the league's only four-game winners...RHP RYAN TEPERA has struck out 13 batters in only 13.1 innings and posted a 0.68 ERA in his first seven appearances...The Bisons have not hit a home run since the first inning of an April 25 game in Lehigh Valley, a span of 263 at-bats.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (12-13) were 11-4 winners in Cleveland last night. Jose Bautista drove in four runs and Russell Martin homered as part of a three-hit day. Former Bison Ezequiel Carrera was 1-2 with a run scored in his Blue Jay debut. Toronto takes on the Indians again today at 1:05 p.m.
