Offense Backin' the Sadler as Tribe Completes Sweep

May 3, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Ace Casey Sadler tossed his 19th quality start of 26 career Triple-A assignments to lead the Indianapolis Indians to a 6-2 victory and three-game sweep of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Sunday afternoon at Victory Field.

Sadler (2-1) was nicked for an early run before tossing five straight scoreless innings and departing with just two earned runs over 6 2/3 frames.

The right-hander has only once dropped back-to-back decisions during his Triple-A career and has now led the Indians (15-10) to a 19-7 record as a starting pitcher.

Top prospect Alen Hanson drove in a pair of runs for the Tribe with a sacrifice fly and triple, while Elias Diaz reached base four times and scored twice with three walks and a single.

The prized backstop Diaz also halted an IronPigs rally in the seventh when he cut down Jordan Danks attempting to steal with two outs in the inning and the go-ahead run at the plate.
