Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Syracuse Chiefs in the first game of a two-game series at NBT Bank Stadium (7:05 p.m.). The Herd swept the Chiefs in the first half of this home-and-home series with wins of 8-3 and 7-5 at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo has won four straight games and nine of their last 12 games to pull within one game of first place in the IL North division.

Last Game (BUF 7, SYR 5)

DH Jesus Montero had a two-run double and two-run triple in last night's 7-5 win over Chiefs. The Herd trailed 3-0 before a pair of three-run rallies in the sixth and seventh innings gave them the win. INF Matt Dominguez added a pair of RBI-singles and RHP Chad Jenkins earned the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

vs. Syracuse (5-4)

The Bisons have won four straight games over the Chiefs after Syracuse started the year 4-1 against the Herd. The teams haven't played at NBT Bank Stadium since the second series of the season. The Chiefs won two of three in a rain-shortened series in Syracuse, April 12-13.

Chris Leroux

RHP Chris Leroux is 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA in four starts since being re-inserted back into the team's rotation on May 14. The righty has not allowed an earned run in three of those four starts. On Memorial Day, Leroux worked six innings in a no-decision against Columbus, yielding four unearned runs in a game the Herd lost in 12 innings, 5-4.

Matt Dominguez

INF Matt Dominguez has reached base safely in 16 of his last 18 games with a .329 average (23-70) since May 15. He brings a five-game hit streak into tonight's game (.429, 9-21) including three-straight multi-hit performances. Dominguez has also driven in a run in four straight games and has 10 RBI in his last seven contests.

Jesus Montero

Since May 14, DH Jesus Montero has posted a .362 (25-69) average -the 2nd-highest mark in the International League during that span. Montero also has 11 extra-base hits and 13 RBI in the 17-game stretch. He now is 3rd in the IL in hits (61) and total bases (95) and 6th in average (.308).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons have a winning record at home (14-12) and on the road (16-13)...C A.J. Jimenez has five multi-hit efforts in his last seven starts and has now averaged .429 (21-49) since May 13...RHP Ben Rowen has made nine consecutive scoreless appearances for the Bisons, a 11-inning stretch that began on May 8.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays' (30-26) defeated the Red Sox on Friday, 5-2. Toronto has now won four straight and eight of their last nine games. DH Edwin Encarnacion and 2B Devon Travis both hit home runs and RHP R.A. Dickey allowed just one earned run over 6.2 innings for his third win of the season. Toronto takes on Boston again today at 4:05 p.m.
