TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Rochester Red Wings in the finale of a two-game series at Frontier Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is looking for the sweep after last night's 10-3 victory. The Bisons final roadtrip of the season will make its final stop tomorrow in Lehigh Valley for a three-game series against the IronPigs.

THRUWAY CUP: With a victory tonight, the Bisons can clinch the 2012 Thruway Series. Buffalo is 18-13 in games against Rochester (10-18) and Syracuse (16-13) this year. While the Red Wings and Chiefs close out the season with three more games, a Buffalo win tonight would give the Herd 19 in the series and the Bisons hold the 10-6 tiebreaker over the Chiefs. It would be Buffalo's first Thruway Series victory since 2007.

SCHWINDEN: RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN will make his 19th start with the Bisons and his 23rd overall start on the year. The righty has posted a 2.59ERA with the Herd and his 3.15ERA overall is 7th best in the International League. Schwinden was victorious last Saturday against the Red Wings with 6.2 innings of three-run ball. He has 87 strikeouts this season and 221 for his two-year Bisons career. That total is 6th most in the club's modern era.

MVP: OF FRED LEWIS homered Tuesday at Coca-Cola Field and added a two-run blast last night. It's the fourth time this season the slugger has gone deep in back-to-back games. The blasts extended Lewis' hit streak to nine games. Since August 22, the outfielder has hit .353 (12-34) with two doubles, three home runs and six RBI.

BISONS BITS: INF MATT TUIASOSOPO brings an eight-game hit streak into tonight's action. He has averaged .400 (12-30) with three home runs and eight RBI since August 23...RHP FERNANDO CABRERA has an International League-best 55 appearances this year. The total is already tied for the 4th most by a Bisons pitcher and is only two away from RHP Rich Batchelor's 1990 record of 57 appearances...With two more home runs last night, the Bisons now have 129 homers on the season. The total is tied with Pawtucket for the second most in the league.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (61-70) lost to the Phillies by a 3-2 score on Thursday. Former Bisons LHP JON NIESE allowed just two runs in six innings but fell to 10-8 on the season. OF MIKE BAXTER hit his second home run of the season. The Mets have traveled to Miami and will face the Marlins tonight at 7:10 p.m.
