Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a 2-1 series win in Pawtucket that lifted the club to 1st place in the IL North Division. Buffalo has won eight of their last nine games since a doubleheader sweep of the PawSox on April 15.

The Bisons are 4-0 against the IronPigs this year, having swept a four-game set from Lehigh Valley at Coca-Cola Field, April 16-19. The Herd has now won 16 of its last 20 games against the IronPigs, including 12 of the last 13 contests in the matchup. Buffalo won all three series that were played at Coca-Cola Park last season (6-2 overall record).

Chad Jenkins

RHP CHAD JENKINS makes his third start of the year tonight. The righty was excellent last Saturday against Lehigh Valley, holding the IronPigs to just one run on two hits in 5.0 innings of work. Jenkins retired 14 of 15 batters at one point in that outing, striking out three.

Roster Moves

C JOSH THOLE was recalled by the Blue Jays today after playing eight game with the Bisons (.269-0-3). In his spot, C A.J. JIMENEZ has been promoted from New Hampshire (AA). Last season for the Herd, Jimenez hit .260 with 13 doubles, two home runs and 24 RBI in 58 games. OF ANDY DIRKS was also released by Toronto on Wednesday.

Shutdown Staff

The Bisons pitching staff continues to lead the International League with a 2.00 ERA. Bisons starters have allowed one earned run or fewer in 11 of their 13 outings this season. While the club is last in the IL with 81 strikeouts, the staff has walked the 2nd-fewest batters (32) and relied on the top defense in the circuit (.989 fielding pct.).

Chris Colabello

INF CHRIS COLABELLO had four hits and four RBI in Wednesday's 8-3 win in Pawtucket. The slugger now leads the Bisons with three home runs while also scoring a run in 10 of the 12 games he's played. Colabello has a .408 on-base pct. to go along with a .524 slugging pct.

RHP BO SCHULTZ (3-3) and RHP BOBBY KORECY (2-2) have converted all five of the Herd's save opps this year...RHP STEVE DELABAR has pitched a shutout inning in each of his four appearances.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (8-7) will look for the three-game sweep of Baltimore tonight (7:07 p.m.) thanks to last night's 4-2 win. Former Bisons' RHP Aaron Sanchez earned his big league first win as a starter while rookie Devon Travis had three more hits, including his fourth home run already this season.
