TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Indianapolis Indians in the second game of a four-game series from Victory Field (1:15 p.m.). The Herd is 1-4 so far on this eight-game roadtrip that began with a series loss in Louisville. Buffalo has now lost eight of their last nine games.

vs. INDIANS: The Bisons are 1-4 against the Indians this season. Buffalo picked up the 11-6 victory in the first matchup between these two teams this year, May 19 at Coca-Cola Field. However, Indy has won the last four by a combined score of 24-10. The Bisons have not won a series in Indy since the 2004 campaign. Since then, the Bisons are 9-20 at Victory Field.

SCHWINDEN: RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN will make his 13th start with the Bisons this year. He allowed just one run in 4.2 innings of work in his last start, a no-decision in Louisville on Tuesday. The righty has made three starts and five appearances since returning to the Mets organization. Since July 6, Schwinden has a 2.20ERA in 16.1 innings of work (16K).

BAXTER: OF MIKE BAXTER has hit .375 (9-24) with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in six games with the Bisons. The veteran joined the Herd on July 23 as he continues his MLB injury rehab assignment. Baxter suffered a displaced right collarbone on June 1, crashing into the wall to make a catch that helped preserve the no-hitter pitched by the Mets' Johan Santana.

LEWIS: OF FRED LEWIS has hit safely in 13 of his last 15 games. Since July 7, the veteran has averaged .313 (20-64) with three doubles, four home runs, 10RBI and 14 runs scored. Lewis is now hitting .297 on the year, tied for the 11th best average in the IL. He also leads the Herd in doubles (18), triples (6), extra-base hits (32), stolen bases (18) and runs scored (57).

BISONS BITS: INF JOSH SATIN ranks 2nd in the International League with a .401 on-base percentage. The last Bison to rank in the top 5 in the league on on-base percentage by the end of the season was OF Ben Francisco in 2007 (.382, T5th), the same year he won the IL batting title (.318)...LHP JUSTIN HAMPSON has pitched shutout baseball in 15 of his last 17 appearances. The stretched includes 19.0 innings of work and 19 strikeouts.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (48-53) lost for the 13th time in 15 games after a 6-3 decision in Arizona last night. Former Bisons 1B IKE DAVIS hit a pair of home runs as he reached the 20-homer plateau for the first time in his career. Davis was 4-4 with all three runs scored. The Mets take on the Diamondbacks again today at 4:10 p.m.
