Miceli Joins Herd...Again

The Cleveland Indians have signed RHP Dan Miceli to a minor league contract and have assigned him to the Buffalo Bisons roster. Miceli was on the roster for the Herd's 4-3 win last night in Toledo.

Miceli was released on May 11 by the Colorado Rockies. He was 0-2 with a 5.66 ERA in 14 relief appearances (20.2IP, 24H, 13ER, 9BB, 18SO) for the Rockies to begin 2003. He owns a career record of 33-40 with 32 saves and a 4.82 ERA over 462 major league games since 1993 (523.0IP, 531H, 280ER). Was an integral member of 1998 NL Champion San Diego Padre bullpen (10-5, 3.22ERA, 67G, 2SV).

This is Miceli's second stint with the Herd. He pitched for the Bisons in 1994. In 19 games that season he was 1-1 with 3 saves and a 1.88 ERA. As a pitcher he had one at-bat for the Bisons that season as well. He singled in his lone plate appearance for the Herd. It is one of only two hits he has as a professional baseball player. His other hit came as a member of the San Diego Padres in 1998.
