Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the second game of a three game series at Coca-Cola Field. This begins the second half of the current homestand after winning two of three against the Columbus Clippers. After an off day on Monday, the Herd will travel to Toledo for a three game series with the Mud Hens June 5-7, as part of a nine-day road trip spanning Toledo, Columbus, and Lehigh Valley. The Buffalo Wings will then return home June 14-17 as they host the Rochester Plates.

Last Game: CHA 10, BUF 4

RHP Deck McGuire tossed 4.2 innings in the loss Friday evening. The righty surrendered four runs on three base hits and three walks. OF Roemon Fields collected three hits on Friday, including 2 infield singles. OF Anthony Alford was the only other Bison to have 2 hits on Friday, recording a double in the 4th and a single in the 6th.

Today's Starter: LHP Ryan Borucki

LHP Ryan Borucki is making his tenth start of the season, and is in search of his fifth victory with the Bisons in 2018. The lefty surrendered two runs over six innings and only walking one in his last start in Rochester on May 28th. The outing was his team-leading sixth road start of the season.

Charlotte (0-1)

The Bisons and Knights will play for the first time this season. The two teams will play a total of 6 times in 2018. Following the three games at Coca-Cola Field, Buffalo will travel to BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, NC for a three-game series August 13-15.

Roemon Fields

OF Roemon Fields collected three base hits on Friday, his second game in a row doing so. This was Fields' 5th multi-hit game of the season and tied his season high. He is now batting .700 (7-10) in his last three games. His batting average has increased 43 points over that span going from .196 to .239. The speedy outfielder also swiped his 10th stolen base of the season on Friday. He is now tied for fourth with Charlotte OF Jacob May in stolen bases.

Anthony Alford

OF Anthony Alford had two hits on Friday. The outfielder now has a four-game hitting streak where he is hitting .353 (6-17). His batting average has increased 31 points over that span going from .152 to .183. In addition to the hitting streak, Alford has collected 9 hits in his last 9 games where he is 9-35 (.257).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons were 18-12 during the month of May, the most wins in the month since going 23-7 in 2005...the 18 wins are the 4th most May wins in the Modern Era..

Transactions

LHP Sam Moll was placed on the disabled list Friday retroactive to 5/30 and OF Randal Grichuk was activated off Toronto's disabled list. Today the team announced that OF Dwight Smith Jr. has re-joined the club after being optioned from Toronto. RHP Nick Tepesch was called up from New Hampshire (AA), while INF Richard Urena has been placed on the Disabled List.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (25-32) lost the opening game 2-5 against the Detroit Tigers on Friday. OF Teoscar Hernandez went 3-5 with an RBI triple and a run scored. RHP Joe Biagini tossed 3 shutout innings in relief giving up three base hits and striking out two. LHP J.A. Happ squares off against LHP Matthew Boyd in the second game of the series today (4:05 p.m.).
