Today's Game
This evening the Bisons play game two of a three-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox. This is the first trip to Sahlen Field on the season for the PawSox. The teams will play three games before meeting at McCoy Stadium next week.
Last Game: BUF 2, PAW 5
Buffalo's offense scored twice in the 2nd inning to take the early lead off of PawSox starter Ryan Weber. Dense fog delayed the game before the top of the 3rd for 32 minutes, before resuming play. Pawtucket took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the 8th, and a Josh Ockimey two-run home run in the 9th capped the scoring. Cavan Biggio extended his hitting streak to five games with a hit in the eighth inning.
Pawtucket (0-1)
The Bisons went 9-11 against the Boston Red Sox top affiliate in 2018. The PawSox went 6-5 against the Herd in Buffalo last season, in addition to a winning record at McCoy Stadium. Pawtucket will make three trips to Sahlen Field this season.
Today's Starter
Jacob Waguespack makes his second start of the season for the Bisons. The right hander worked a solid six innings for Buffalo on Opening Day to earn his first win of the season. Waguespack has made seven starts for the Herd since being acquired from the Phillies organization last year.
Roemon Fields
Outfielder Roemon Fields had a three-hit day in the series opener against Pawtucket on Monday, his second three-hit game of the season. Fields has a base hit in three straight games, and has hit safely in four of five games this year.
Andrew Guillotte
The Herd scored both of their runs in the 2nd inning on Monday, with outfielder Andrew Guillotte delivering. He grounded out, but cashed in his first RBI of the season with Gunnar Heidt scoring on the play. Guillotte played in seven games for Buffalo last season.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (3-8) had the day off on Monday folllowing their four-game series in Cleveland. The Blue Jays are in Boston for a two-game series at Fenway Park. The Red Sox will raise the banner on their 2018 World Series championship when they host Toronto today. The two teams are off tomorrow before concluding the series on Thursday. The Jays will return home Friday to host the Tampa Bay Rays for a weekend series at Rogers Centre.
